Giant thinkers

What if everything worked out to my advantage? What if this was the day that everything changed? What if I could feel fully myself? What would happiness feel like everyday? What would a joyful lifestyle look like for me? What would it mean if all my problems were solved? What would my life look like […]

Faith

I thought I would write this blog specifically about my Faith. This is a topic I don’t love being too in your face about. A big part of me hates the stereotype that is evoked when you tell someone you believe in Jesus. What I realized is that I was actually going through a time […]

Anything Can Happen

So it’s 1:30am in the morning here in California. Jet lag has kicked in. In case you haven’t read my previous blogs, I have moved back to Redding, California to attend my 2nd year of school at Bethel. It has been a whirlwind, quitting my job in Queensland, packing up my life again, squeezing in […]

Brave

Tough decision. I’ve been accepted back for a 2nd year at Bethel in California. I LOVE the COMFORT of being back in Australia, with my yummy family, chasing summer on the beach, enjoying little beach town life and earning my keep. But something screams inside me saying, “Ella you are not being true to yourself, […]

All That I Am

Through my teenage years and early 20’s I desperately, passionately wanted to be an actress. When I finished high school I went to Drama school, and in my 2nd year I went through what was one of the darkest seasons of my life. I was receiving so much negative criticism and felt I was being torn in every […]

Un-offendable

Walking through the international gates to greet my family after 9 months of being away in California, I was reminded of the opening scene in Love Actually. I had imagined this moment all year. It got me through the times I wondered whether I could pull this off. It was a bittersweet moment where I […]

Fearless

Last year my new year’s resolution was to take a risk with my life. I asked myself what I would do if I had no limitations. So the pursuit began to live a life free from limitations. Sitting on the other side of risk I cannot begin to describe how fulfilling it is. The process, […]

Just say yes

Merry Christmas everyone! I had my first winter Christmas here in California! Our amazing neighbors loaned us their Mountain cabin for the Christmas break so a group of my friends went up there to celebrate together! It was the best time with lots of laughing and reflecting on the year that was! It’s very hard […]

And she decided to live the life she imagined

I was flying home from the Gold Coast where I’d attended a work conference. Opening my emails I saw that I had received an email from the school of ministry in California.  The email read ‘Congratulations! You have been accepted.’ I felt nothing. I wasn’t excited or freaking out, just neutral. It wasn’t until I […]

  • It’s been nearly a week since we got back from Beijing and all I can think about is the people! I am deeply impacted by this team! Why? Because we don’t remember what people say but we remember how they make us feel. And what I felt on this team was a whole lot of love, joy/comedy, purpose beyond ourselves and unity I have never felt before. I loved the late night/ early morning chats, the permission to put the head phones in to be an introvert and the delight in sharing in the hilarity of “we have no idea what we are doing”. It wasn’t just the team that impacted me but the students who left a mark - we got to teach English and Creativity to 16- 18 year olds. Seeing the transformation in the student from day 1 to day 5 was the most rewarding gift. China you have my heart. ❤️
  • I don’t think I have ever - EVER dressed up like this, not even when I was in drama school! There’s something about my friend @lucassankey he sees people differently! Check out his Narnia series on his page! Thank you for capturing my bad ass side! And shout out to the very talented @lesliehernandez.mua and @brb_hair for hair and make up! Thank you for pushing me to go bigger and bolder! ❤️❤️
  • @hunt.odom you are one of the funniest & kindest people I know! This trip to China has been hysterical with you on our team! I don’t think I have laughed this hard in a long time 😂
