Year in Review Every six months I like to look back over my year. I look for patterns and progress. Looking back helps me accelerate forward. It reminds me to celebrate and enjoy the process as well as making adjustments to keep me on track to achieving my goals. Here are some rapid-fire questions for […]

Full of thanks

It’s such a beautiful time of year here in the States. While in one hemisphere the heat is turning up, the one I am in the leaves are falling and winter coats are coming out. A few weeks ago I celebrated my third Thanksgiving. It’s so beautiful to take a day to celebrate and be […]

Highs and Lows

I was out at a party in Hollywood and was hitting it off with an entertainment industry professional, I’ll call them ‘X’. Before I knew it we were exchanging details and ‘X’ was offering BIG introductions to some of the top 5 people I dream to have dinner with, well maybe 4 because I was […]

Trust

Before I came back to California to attend my second year of school I was looking for a sign to point me in the right direction. On the very day I asked for a sign an envelope was found in the bottom of a bag. On the front it said, “Seed money for Bethel.” I […]

A dream is a wish your heart makes

A few years back I walked into an inner healing counseling session, sat down and said, “I feel like I have no vision and the dreams I once dreamed are lifeless. I don’t have that connection I once had with them.” The counselor said, “The reason you are finding it hard to have vision is […]

Faith

I thought I would write this blog specifically about my Faith. This is a topic I don’t love being too in your face about. A big part of me hates the stereotype that is evoked when you tell someone you believe in Jesus. What I realized is that I was actually going through a time […]

Anything Can Happen

So it’s 1:30am in the morning here in California. Jet lag has kicked in. In case you haven’t read my previous blogs, I have moved back to Redding, California to attend my 2nd year of school at Bethel. It has been a whirlwind, quitting my job in Queensland, packing up my life again, squeezing in […]

Brave

Tough decision. I’ve been accepted back for a 2nd year at Bethel in California. I LOVE the COMFORT of being back in Australia, with my yummy family, chasing summer on the beach, enjoying little beach town life and earning my keep. But something screams inside me saying, “Ella you are not being true to yourself, […]

Un-offendable

Walking through the international gates to greet my family after 9 months of being away in California, I was reminded of the opening scene in Love Actually. I had imagined this moment all year. It got me through the times I wondered whether I could pull this off. It was a bittersweet moment where I […]

  • It’s been nearly a week since we got back from Beijing and all I can think about is the people! I am deeply impacted by this team! Why? Because we don’t remember what people say but we remember how they make us feel. And what I felt on this team was a whole lot of love, joy/comedy, purpose beyond ourselves and unity I have never felt before. I loved the late night/ early morning chats, the permission to put the head phones in to be an introvert and the delight in sharing in the hilarity of “we have no idea what we are doing”. It wasn’t just the team that impacted me but the students who left a mark - we got to teach English and Creativity to 16- 18 year olds. Seeing the transformation in the student from day 1 to day 5 was the most rewarding gift. China you have my heart. ❤️
  • I don’t think I have ever - EVER dressed up like this, not even when I was in drama school! There’s something about my friend @lucassankey he sees people differently! Check out his Narnia series on his page! Thank you for capturing my bad ass side! And shout out to the very talented @lesliehernandez.mua and @brb_hair for hair and make up! Thank you for pushing me to go bigger and bolder! ❤️❤️
  • @hunt.odom you are one of the funniest & kindest people I know! This trip to China has been hysterical with you on our team! I don’t think I have laughed this hard in a long time 😂
  • A bunch of public transport posers in China 🇨🇳
  • Home from a life enriching trip to Beijing, China.
  • Exciting projects in the works! Stay tuned... 😉
  • Christmas Family FaceTime 🇺🇸🇦🇺🎄

  • One of the things I get to do at @bethelconservatoryofthearts is teach a class called the Whole Hearted Artist. In the class we talk about the things that stop us from living brave and showing up as fully ourselves! To all my brave hearted actors I love you and love seeing you step into being comfortable in your own skin ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
  • So proud of you Loz! @lauren_brewer_music I grew up watching you sing at Mt Evelyn Church in Melbourne so fun to see you thriving in California! Watching you @blackboxsoundstage brought back all the mems! Love ya stacks and heaps!
  • Repost from @twinsparrowco
A friend snuck some perfect lil BTS vids of our Companion Journal photo shoot & it has me reflecting today & feelin all the grateful feels ✨
My journey as a creative has taken so many twists and turns- I’m forever getting inspired by a new creative outlet, most of them completely disconnected 😆🤷‍♀️. I used to feel shame about how I never seemed to be able to stick to one thing, but over the years I’ve watched how all the variety of experiences really start to overlap and bleed into each other, each new chapter enhanced by the ones before. I spent a bunch of years as a wedding photographer and being able to shoot all my own images for Twin Sparrow has served me so well in what I’m doing now. Looking back, there are a thousand things that have come full circle like that. ✨
If you’re hungry for more that what your current world is filled with- trust me when I say the chapter you’re in this very moment WILL NOT BE WASTED. It’s sowing into something bigger that’s coming, even if you completely pivot directions. The people you’re meeting, the skills you’re honing, the experiences that are growing you deeper and stronger and braver... it’s all part of what’s coming. And worth it! Before you even understand what’s on the other side. You’ll be astonished at how all the pieces fit together one day. I’m tellin ya 😏#trust the process 📷: @lucassankey Photography
